Battery powered SPMTs are increasingly in demand by companies all over the world, in order to be able to handle very large and heavy materials, in an ecological and cost-effective manner.
The battery power supply and the fully electric motorisation in fact make these modular self-propelled vehicles suitable for both outdoor and indoor handling, guaranteeing complete flexibility. In addition to being non-polluting, the battery powered SPMTs with electric motors are also extremely quiet and, above all, clean. The standard modular self-propelled vehicles are in fact made with numerous hydraulic motors and hydrostatic transmission. This complex hydraulic system is always a source of oil leakage around the plant, as well as requiring continuous and complex maintenance.
Even the economic aspect is a factor to be carefully considered in the choice of these modular self-propelled vehicles. The electric motorisation is in fact much more efficient than the hydraulic motor, thus reducing the necessary power. The cost of electricity is also much lower than that of diesel. These factors make battery powered SPMTs a much more affordable choice, in the medium term, compared to modular self-propelled vehicles with diesel power and hydraulic motorisation.
